Shane Crawford's BCNA Fundraiser

EXEDY supports Crawford's extraordinary run from Adelaide to Melbourne

EXEDY proudly supported Shane Crawford's inspiring run and walk from Adelaide to Melbourne, which officially kicked off on the 1st September at Federation Sqaure. The "That's What I'm Walkin' About" fundraiser marathon saw Crawford cover over 760 kilometres of ground, averaging about 65km a day, over 12 days in an effort to raise proceeds for Breast Cancer Network Australia and awareness of the disease. EXEDY was one of the first companies on board with a contribution of $10,000 towards this worthwhile cause.

During the course of the journey hundreds of people showed their support for the Brownlow medalist, and Footy Show presenter, as he passed through towns including Murray Bridge, Bordertown, Nhil, Horsham, Ararat and Ballarat, before finally arriving in Melbourne. As he passed through many rural communities, enthusiastic fans walked along side Crawford in an effort to keep his spirits up as he battled exhaustion, sore feet and sore legs.

Crawford ended the final and triumphant leg of the marathon at the Channel Nine studios where he was welcomed by breast cancer survivors who formed a guard of honour around him as a show of thanks and respect to the inspirational sportsman.

The "That's What I'm Walkin' About" fundraiser was an initiative of Shane Crawford supported by Channel Nine's The Footy Show and EXEDY Australia. The event raised over $400,000 for BCNA which is the peak national organisation and voice for Australians personally affected by breast cancer. The organisation works to ensure that Australians diagnosed with breast cancer and their families receive the very best information, treatment and care no matter who they are or where they live.
