EXEDY, one of the world’s largest clutch manufacturers, is taking the company’s No 1 for Clutch message to the racing circuits of Australia in 2017 aligned with the number one Dunlop Super2 Series (formerly the Dunlop Supercar Series) car and driver, Garry Jacobson.

EXEDY first joined this exciting young Supercar driver at the title deciding final round of last season at Sydney Olympic Park. EXEDY now returns to the newly crowned number one Dunlop Super2 Series car and driver, Garry Jacobson for what is sure to be an exciting new season.

EXEDY logos appear across the front and rear of Jacobson’s PRA Falcon FG-X Supercar promoting the company’s leading range of aftermarket clutch kits and components for Australian and New Zealand automotive repairers, along with high performance clutches for drifting and circuit racing enthusiasts. The premium EXEDY Racing Clutch range will also be promoted on the car during the season with EXEDY Racing Clutch logos also appearing on Jacobson’s racing overalls and on team merchandise during the 2017 season.

The eight event 2017 Dunlop Super2 Series gets underway at the spectacular Clipsal 500 season opener on the streets of Adelaide in March. The series then visits Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales through to late November, with all Dunlop Super2 Series events held in conjunction with 2017 Virgin Australia Supercar Series events.

According to EXEDY General Manager Kabel Davis, the company is excited about the season ahead given Jacobson’s outstanding performance behind the wheel last season. “ Garry Jacobson returns to the Dunlop Super2 Series to defend his well-earned championship this season and all of us at EXEDY are proud to be supporting him as he aims to achieve back to back titles. Garry is ready to take on all challengers in the number one PRA Falcon, making this a perfect fit with EXEDY being the number one choice for OE Replacement, high performance, racing and heavy transport clutches,” Mr Davis stated.

Jacobson is thrilled to welcome EXEDY aboard for his 2017 Dunlop Super2 Series campaign. “ It is great to have a multi-national market leading automotive company in EXEDY on board for 2017 after we enjoyed a fantastic first round together at last year’s Sydney 500, my Dunlop Super2 Series title winning event.

“I believe that it was my consistency that won the title last season, so that will be the goal this year, to be as fast and consistent as I can at every round. I feel that I have more speed in me this year and I will need it, as it sure to be highly competitive field. The team is pumped for success so we can’t wait to get back to the business of racing at the Clipsal 500 and over the entire season,
” he said.

In a further development for the EXEDY sponsored driver in 2017, Jacobson has been announced as endurance race co-driver with double Bathurst 1000 champion driver Jason Bright in the Mega Fuels PRA Falcon. Jacobson will be making his main Supercars series endurance racing debut at this year’s Sandown 500 in September, along with the Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600 in October.
