Sydney set to sizzle with EXEDY Racing clutch & Garry Jacobson

EXEDY is making it’s Supercars debut at Sydney Olympic Park Street Circuit this weekend for the 7th and final round of the 2016 Dunlop Supercar Series with championship leader, Garry Jacobson and the formidable Prodrive Racing Australia team.

Garry’s form on street circuits is impressive to say the least, starting the season off in March with the second race pole position and victory at the Clipsal 500 on the streets of Adelaide. After qualifying second at Phillip Island he gained two race wins at the super-fast Grand Prix circuit in April. His fourth win of the season came at September’s Sandown 500, which also saw him score pole position. A new record lap in qualifying at Bathurst gave the Exedy Racing Clutch sponsored driver pole position and a hard fought second place after a gruelling 250 kilometre race in October.

Further to Garry’s street circuit prowess, the 24 year old raced to second place at the opening Townsville Street Circuit race in July, also racing to second place in one of the Phillip Island races, (narrowly missing a clean sweep of the round) and he did the same in the second Sandown 500 Dunlop Series race.

The 166 point championship lead that Garry takes to the Sydney 500 this weekend was also earned with third place Dunlop Supercar Series race finishes at races in Perth and Sandown, with a 5th place at Townsville.

It all comes down to two races at the 3.4 kilometre Sydney Olympic Park Street Circuit this weekend with two practice sessions on Friday, Qualifying and a 17 lap race on Saturday afternoon, followed by the final street fight of the year on Sunday afternoon also of 17 laps duration.

Every practice and qualifying session is broadcast live on Foxsports, with the races also broadcast nationally on Network Ten.
